YouTube Conclude – Privacy Policy

Overview

YouTube Conclude is a Chrome extension that summarizes YouTube videos by reading publicly available captions from the video you are currently watching. This Privacy Policy describes what data is processed, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

Information We Process

The extension processes the following information only when the user clicks the extension button:

• URL of the currently active YouTube video
• The video’s publicly available captions (transcript) as shown on the YouTube watch page

No other data is accessed, collected, or stored.

How the Data Is Used

The transcript text is securely sent to our server for the sole purpose of generating an AI-powered summary, including bullet points, an “In short” statement, and a conclusion.

We do not collect:

• Personal information
• Account details
• User identifiers
• Browsing history
• Cookies or tracking information

Data Storage

We do not store any transcripts, URLs, summaries, or user data on our servers. All data is processed in real time and immediately discarded.

Third-Party Services

The backend uses OpenAI API strictly for generating summaries. No user-identifiable data is sent to OpenAI.

Permissions Explanation

The extension requires the following permissions:

• activeTab – to read captions on the YouTube page the user explicitly activates
• tabs – to read the current tab's URL to ensure the user is on a YouTube watch page
• https://www.youtube.com/* – to read captions on YouTube video pages

Your Choices

You may uninstall the extension at any time. After uninstalling, no data will be processed.
